‘Snelson #2’ (review)

Written by Paul Constant
Art by Fred Harper
Published by Ahoy Comics

This book is a lot of fun. It has a high concept that really works and it is pretty much crazy. It also has a lot of social commentary behind it as well. I love the way the story is told and the way the whole story just unravels.

In this issue, we get to see that Snelson’s comedy has grown old for many people. His comedy is no longer acceptable and people are showing him just how much. He had many hecklers and we get to see that in motion.

Snelson thinks that he is getting cancelled but the truth is far worse than that. He has become irrelevant and everyone starts to really take note of this. Snelson still thinks he is getting canceled so he acts horribly and it doesn’t yield much in the way of results.

So what does he do?

Well, he jumps into the realm of alt-right podcasting. It doesn’t yield him much in the way of positive results. We get to see him deal with some pretty hefty struggles and outcomes from this point on.

The script is very smart. Constant has a way with dialogue that is very natural and well done. The art is very good as well, and it fits the story perfectly.

Overall, I am loving this and I appreciate the direction that this whole thing is taking.

RATING: A
