Written by Mark Russell
Art by Steve Pugh
Published by DC Comics
Man, writer Mark Russell and Steve Pugh have done it again. This book is just plain awesome and it really is a unique look at the Superman mythos. It is a funny yet topical look at these characters that we have all known for a really long time. But it is done in a fresh and new way.
At the beginning of this book, things are looking really bad for Lexor.
In fact, it may actually be the final days for the place. It is starting to look like Lex Luthor’ petty greed has finally gotten the best of him and it may have proved to his undoing. Lex is forced at this point to take stock at where he is in life.
It isn’t pretty.
So, with things looking as bad as they are, the people of Lexor do have a bit of hope. Sadly, it is not with Lex.
No, their hope looks to come from the one person that Lex Luthor hates the most: Superman.
Lex won’t stand for it. He is tired of Superman always ruining things for him. He is tired of Superman always looking like the hero. So, he decides to confront Superman. This leads into one of the craziest confrontations in recent comics. It is also truly compelling.
Russell writes characters that are multidimensional. He does a great job of making Lex not feel like a caricature. Pugh does an excellent job with the art as well and creates a unique looking Superman book. This is pretty great and I enjoyed this whole series very much.
