‘Batman: Reptilian #2’ (review)

Written by Garth Ennis
Art by Liam Sharp
Published by DC Comics

This book is very different and I am loving where the creative team has been taking us. Garth Ennis is definitely not a natural fit for a writer of Batman but it works well enough. I do enjoy that it is a very unique and perspective on the mythos.
There is a new creature in Gotham that has been tearing apart the city. He is very dangerous and the only person who may have a chance in stopping him is Batman. But this threat may, in fact, be bigger than Batman can handle.
Batman is the hunt for this creature.
His first stop is the Penguin’s place. He thinks that Oswald Cobblepot may have some answers. But it seems like Batman may be wrong this time. The Penguin is dying and there might not be a lot that Batman can do about that.
The Penguin has no answers for Batman. So, he heads out again into the night. His next stop proves to be a bit more fruitful. But it also puts him on a collision course with the beast.
Can Batman survive this?
The writing is wonderfully offbeat as stated before. The art by Liam Sharp is great as usual. Sharp is one of those artists that only seems to get better.
Overall, this is a strong issue in a decent series.

RATING: A
