‘Future State: Dark Detective #4’ (review)

Written by Mariko Tamaki, Joshua Williamson
Art by Dan Mora, Giannis Milonogiannis
Published by DC Comics

I am sad to see this particular title end. I really loved this comic and what the creative team have brought to it.

It has been a truly new look at the Batman mythos through a new lens and I am sorry to see it go. This was a fine issue and a good ending to the series, however.

Bruce Wayne was thought to have been dead by the Magistrate.

Yet, the opposite is true. As this issue begins, we get to see that Bruce is still Batman and is taking the Magistrate on!

His war against evil hasn’t stopped and he has really gone the distance this time.

So, we get to see Batman fight his way across Gotham City.

He is making his way to the mastermind behind the Magistrate. That opponent is known as Peacekeeper One.

Once we see this character, you can see that Bruce is going to have his hands completely full!

This whole thing leads to the end of the book. I have to say that it is one hell of a climax. I had high expectations for the end as I have been loving this book and the creative team exceeded them.

I have to say that this was pretty damn great.

Writer Mariko Tamaki and artist Dan Mora have really done something new and fresh with this. I commend them both for their work here.

There is an interesting Red Hood backup story as well here that I don’t want to say too much about as it leads to future events.

All in all, this is a fantastic last issue of this series.

RATING: A
