‘Future State: Catwoman #2’ (review)

Written by Ram V
Art by Otto Schmidt
Published by DC Comics

I really enjoyed the first issue of this short run more than I thought I would.

And now, I am happy to report I enjoyed this issue even more!

This is a fun and enjoyable read and it went places that I did not expect. This was a good time overall.

This book reminded me of Snowpiercer a bit but I didn’t mind.

Last issue, Catwoman fought through the bullet train, trying to stop it before it reaches it’s destination.

She is trying to save the Magistrate’s prisoners and will fight to the death if necessary.

The action sequences are great. We get to see Catwoman work her way through the train. It is as exciting as can be.

She then comes across the original Batman, Bruce Wayne. But is it really him? Or is it just a trick of the Magistrate’s? We find out pretty quickly!

From there, Catwoman comes across Talia al Ghul. What is she doing there and what does she want?

It all leads to a hell of a conclusion that was pretty damn exciting. It also has one of the better endings of the Future State books thus far.

The writing by Ram V is pretty decent. The whole story moves pretty fast but never at the expense of character.

The art by Otto Schmidt is especially good. He is one of the more underrated artists out there.

All in all, this is an entertaining book. I enjoyed it very much.

RATING: A-
