I have been loving this series even more since Dick Grayson became Nightwing again.
The stories written by Dan Jurgens have been pretty consistent. They never get too deep but that is perfectly fine by me. I am interested as to where we will be going with this series.
This issue is something that we have yet to see in this run written by Dan Jurgens. That’s right, this is a Christmas issue! It is great to see this series get a bit lighter as it has been super serious these past two or so years.
Dick Grayson is pretty exhausted as we first see him here.
He needs some time off for sure to see his friends and family and just to recharge. How is he going to do that, however, when crime is always happening in the city?
We get to see Dick really coming to terms with this place in his life.
He had also pushed a lot of his friends and family away. But that is when he comes face to face with a surprise guest star. This encounter really allows Dick to open up a bit and to assess where he is in life.
Can he find a solution for himself? Or is he doomed to a lonely existence forever?
Dan Jurgens does his best work here writing this.
The story is strong and emotional and just good. The art works perfectly with the story. It is well drawn but it is never “showy.”
This is a solid issue for this comic and makes for a nice holiday read.
