Once in a while, an original comic book or graphic novel comes along that you’ve never heard of that really turns out to be great.

I really liked the cover when I saw this book, but I knew nothing about it. Fortunately, this is a a highly entertaining and engaging book that has nothing but the highest quality of entertainment value. It is well done and strong and I loved every part of it.

There is a lot of great world building here and I have to give the creators a lot of credit. They worked hard and turned in a book that is truly unlike anything that I have seen before.

There are all sorts for fun things in this book that readers can gobble up.

There are monsters! There are secrets across time and space! There are cults!

There are also some really great character choices.

As far as the story goes, it starts off with the aforementioned cult trying to stake their claim in the universe. Basically, they seem really determined to bring back spam ancient and terrible evils. They start to go about doing so which is always fun to read about. But this cult isn’t going to let up and they are a much bigger threat than one would think. What is going to stop them from fulfilling this plan? Well, that would definitely be the main characters of this crazy tale.

We are introduced to the heroes of the book who are our three main characters. We get to meet Reginald, who is one of the lead investigators who wields a mystical knife! Where does this knife come from? Well, that is explored a bit in this book. Reginald is also a bit of a hothead and we get to see his temper bubble up to the surface a few times in entertaining ways.

We also meet Debby who is his partner who wields this strange looking gun. She is a bit calmer than Reginald and it makes for a good balance between the two.

Finally, we meet the third partner whose name is Ollie.

Ollie is a strange one. Reginald and Debby meet him in the wildest of circumstances. Ollie is a supernatural enforcer with the heart of a child. The first time we see Ollie, well, it is quite a scene indeed. I loved how macabre it all felt, yet it all seemed pretty grounded as well. The characters are fully formed right of the gate and it is a pleasure to see. We do get a bit of a back story for each of these characters too, and it kept me intrigued to find out more.

We get to see the team fight some monsters and some various ghouls.

However, once the plot kicks in, we get to see them break the barrier between time and space to fight against this crazy cult.

Do they even stand a chance? Or are the three of them in over their heads?

They don’t have a lot of time to think things through as the pacing of this book is fast and exciting. There is a lot that keeps you on your toes throughout and I had to say it is never boring. We get to see some of the places that the team get taken to. There are plenty of moments where you’re not sure if they are going to pull their quest. I loved that aspect of it, and the book never failed to surprise me.

This whole book leads to the team having to face this crazy cult and stopping them.

The cult seems intent on bringing the apocalypse forward and that’s never a good thing. Will our heroes succeed? Will the world get saved? Or is the earth doomed to a destructive fate? Well, maybe. This is only the first chapter after all.

The story by Shannon Eric Denton is really well done and enjoyable and the artwork by David Hartman fits the book beautifully. It is a good book and I look forward to reading more adventures with these characters. The whole thing really worked for me, and it is a fine book for those who like to read exciting books with good twists.
