Support ‘Kai Hards,’ on Indiegogo! A ‘Karate Kid’ Fandom Documentary

The legacy of The Karate Kid has not only endured but evolved into a full-fledged cultural movement, thanks to the massive success of the current Netflix spin-off series “Cobra Kai.” Now, a new feature documentary, KAI HARDS, aims to take audiences on a deep dive into the fandom, legacy, and behind-the-scenes magic that have kept this universe alive for decades.

Helmed by filmmaker Kayvon Derak-Shanian (More Than Miyagi) KAI HARDS will feature exclusive interviews with cast, superfans, martial artists and industry insiders to explore how “Cobra Kai” became a global sensation nearly 30 years after the original Karate Kid trilogy concluded. The film will capture the heart of the fan community, the nostalgia-driven revival of the franchise, and the impact of martial arts storytelling on multiple generations.

To bring this passion project to life, the filmmaking team has launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign with a goal of $26,000 to support production and post-production efforts. The campaign offers exclusive rewards for backers, ranging from behind-the-scenes content to limited-edition merchandise and VIP experiences.

This is not just a documentary; its a love letter to the iconic franchise’s fan community and the cultural phenomenon that has kept the spirit of The Karate Kid alive,” stated Kayvon Derak-Shanian, Kai Hards’ Director. Now, we are calling on the fan community to help us make this project a reality!”
