FOG! Exclusive!:
TURF To Become An Animated Series; Tommy Lee Edwards To Direct

While at the ICON7 conference this past weekend, I had the opportunity
to talk to Tommy Lee Edwards about plans to develop his creator owned
series Turf as an animated series.

Turf, which is now available in
hardcover from Image was created by Jonathan Ross and Edwards,

is set during prohibition in 1929 New York, and combines
organized crime, vampires, space aliens, dirty cops all involved in a
turf war like no other.

Edwards and Ross

Although the series had originally been mentioned as a potential live action adaptation, that appears to no longer be the case as Edwards told me that it’s now planned to become an animated series.

He plans to adapt the first mini-series as a single 10-13
episode first season.  But unlike many other adaptations, his plans are
to stay with it as it’s director and maintain both it’s look and tone.

The project doesn’t have a home yet, but since he plans for the adaptation to maintain it’s
adult tone, it’s likely to be targeted toward a pay cable network.

Edwards’ latest project, a collaboration with filmmaker Edgar Wright, The Random Adventures of Brandon Generator is an interactive animated graphic novel,
and will conclude next month.  Also coming soon is a new comic with
Jonathan Ross, Golden Age, coming from Image Comics.

Thanks, Tommy Lee!  Party enjoyed!
