‘The Scumbag #7’ (review)

Written by Rick Remender
Art by Francesco Mobili
Published by Image Comics

I loved the first story arc of this book but I have to say that this particular one might be be even better.

Rick Remender is taking the concept that he created and is trying new things.

The results speak for themselves as this is a consistently funny and engaging book.

Last issue, Ernie went to the moon for his usual reasons.

That’s right, he wanted to score with a girl!

He was being tasked to stop the Moonflower cult that is on the moon and take them down. But things take a bit of a twist here.

Ernie unfortunately has been separated from his party. But along his journey, he stumbles across the Moonflower cult and their deadly leader. This puts Ernie into a bit of a pickle. Then, he has to make a choice for himself.

Should he join the Moonflower cult? Sure, their leader has some crazy and deadly plans. But on the other hand, there is the promise of sex and plenty of drugs. What is a scumbag to do? The answers are hysterical and surprising.

The story by Remender is pretty damn good. I have to say that he just keeps getting better as a writer.

The artwork by Francesco Mobili is pretty damn good as well.

The whole thing is just fun and enjoyable and I am having a good time reading it.

RATING: A
