‘Chariot #1’ (review)

I have really enjoyed a lot of this company’s output.

They have been creating some excellent self contained miniseries that let you get in on the ground floor of the story that they are telling. They have also been of good quality as well. That certainly is the case with this book. I enjoyed it very much and it had a very strong concept.

The opening few pages have a wordless chase scene. It is quite exciting and it ends rather explosively!

This is our introduction to a mysterious woman who will become important later on it seems. It is a nice introduction to the series as well and it immediately asks a lot of questions.

We are then introduced to Jim.

Jim and his family are facing a crisis. He tells them that he is going to take care of it. Jim then finds himself going up against some people who aren’t so nice.

That is when things really take off.

By the end of the issue, Jim finds himself face to face with the woman from the first scene. He comes across her in a really interesting way. We start to slowly see that this is a bigger story than we thought, one that involves a mysterious organization, spies, and danger.

Bryan Edward Hill has always been a solid writer. He proves that again here with this book. It is well thought out and well scripted. The art by Priscilla Petraites is perfect for this as well. I am intrigued to where this is all going. It should be interesting.
