This is yet another missed opportunity from DC with these characters.
Writer Brian Michael Bendis either doesn’t understand the Legion or doesn’t care to, and it is apparent on every page. There isn’t much meat to the story either.
One of the Legionnaires has betrayed the entire galaxy!
It is hard to care about it since the characters are woefully underdeveloped.
But hey, let’s just go with it. The United Planets is completely destroyed! The universe is going to fall into chaos! Things are looking dark!
The Legion of Super-Heroes have been scattered across different worlds.
The team is in chaos! The Legionnaires that remain are trying to figure out what has happened to them. They start to put together the pieces.
That is when Bendis does what Bendis usually does.
He gives us a surprise twist that nobody has seen coming!
It is something that should turn this entire series on it’s head. But since it is founded on nothing, it just all falls flat.
The Legion of Super-Heroes deserve better than this!
The story is extremely dull. I found it super hard to get into. The art by Riley Rossmo is a bright spot however. His art is wonderful to look at. He makes the whole issue hurt less.
I love the Legion. This feels nothing like them.
