‘The Department of Truth #3’ (review)

This is an interesting book.

James Tynion IV does a great job writing this book and his passion for it shows through. It is definitely one of the better books that he has written. The stories are strange yet very entertaining. There is also a lot of interesting places that this can go as well.

This issue focuses on The Department of Truth heading on over to a new case.

They go and meet a woman named Mary who is experiencing something unlike anything she has ever experienced. A few dark conspiracies start to surround her and it is pretty terrifying.

Agent Cole Turner and the Department start to look into Mary’s case. She has an interesting history. Her son was killed in a mass shooting so there is a conspiracy theory about that. There is also something much bigger at play, something that nobody has seen coming.

Reality starts to distort. Things get extremely crazy both in the writing and art. These events here even affect Cole in a way that I wasn’t expecting. It all leads to a hell of an ending that leaves you wanting more immediately.

The story is good. The art is off putting. There has to be a better artist for this book out there. Sometimes, it took me out of the story.

Overall, it is very good, but with a stronger artist with more control, this could be great.
