‘Catwoman #20’ (review)

Written by Joelle Jones
Art by Fernando Blanco
Published by DC Comics

Raina Creel has turned into one hell of an adversary for Catwoman. Joelle Jones has created a memorable villain here and it has been a fun time watching her and Selina go at it. This is another decent issue where they do just that!

The opening of this chapter has a zombie like creature being corralled at Raina Creel’s place. We get to see a scene of Raina Creel basically organizing her troops. It is a cool scene as we get to see Creel planning something big. This scene basically gets things brewing.

Creel is making a move on the pawn shop that Selina is stationed at and a big confrontation is coming.

We then cut to the pawn shop where there is an attack happening already in progress.

Selina and her team are trying their best to get out of this predicament. But their attackers aren’t really letting them catch a breath.

That is when Catwoman comes up with an actual plan.

That plan involves Selina leaving her group alone. She even tells them to watch after her sister.

Then she is off into the night! There is a lot of build up towards the cliffhanger. And man, what a cliffhanger It is. I can’t wait until the conclusion coming up next issue.

Joelle Jones has written a really excellent storyline over many issues. Reading this particular issue, I can now see she had been planting seeds this whole time during her run. All her work is paying off and I can’t wait to see how it ends!!

RATING: B+
