‘Batman Beyond #39’ (review)

Written by Dan Jurgens
Art by Inaki Miranda
Published by DC Comics

Writer Dan Jurgens has done a pretty great job on this title. He has taken this book and has done issue after issue of interesting stories.

This current story is also very interesting as it has a woman in the Batman suit and it has caused one hell of a mystery in this comic book.

The new Batwoman has left everyone in Gotham in a spin and people are scratching their heads wondering who she is.  The issue starts out with the Batwoman facing off against Blight.

An exciting fight follows. This takes up a good part of the issue.

While this is going on, Matt is in the Batcave talking to Bruce Wayne. Bruce is telling Matt about what happened to Matt’s father.  He then tells Matt how Blight must stopped.

But can Blight be stopped before he kills this new Batwoman?

We then have a scene with Terry McGinnis. Terry has amnesia and is trying to remember who he is. A woman tries to help him but she is unsuccessful as well.

Will Terry ever regain his memory?

All of these stories get their due time in this issue. The fight between Batwoman and Blight has a surprising ending here. Terry is left in dire straits. Also,  Bruce and Matt are trying to piece everything together and make sense it all.

The art by Miranda is the icing on the cake. It is a really fine art job. The last page promises some exciting things to come.

I can’t wait to see what those things are. This is another good issue in a decent comic book series.

RATING: B+
