‘Catwoman #18’ (review)

Written by Joelle Jones

Published by DC Comics

Joelle Jones has really been doing some amazing work on this title. The last few issues have really been out of this world, and this issue follows suit. She has really amped up the story and it is highly exciting. She has a great handle on the character of Selina Kyle too, so it is making for one really exciting read!

Selina Kyle has decided to take Lex Luthor up on his offer!

She is going to take the map that he gave her and is going to use it to stop Raina Creel from finding the Lazarus Pit! It had been a pretty good story overall these last few issues and this issue is almost a side story.

The opening pages has Selina meeting up with Zatanna. The two of them have a nice and fun conversation.  Then, a big fight erupts in the Magic Club space that they are at. Zatanna and Selina’s battle is extremely well drawn and is the best part of the book. It is really a lot of fun.

We get to a scene where Carlos is texting Selina. Not a lot happens in this scene and it is a little expository.

Then, we are back at the Magic Club and Zatanna and Selina have had a few drinks. This leads to one of the strangest endings I have read in a long time. It just was really strange.

The story was great right up until the end. Maybe that weird cliffhanger will be explained next issue. Either way, the art is great and it is a mostly fun issue that is very entertaining.

RATING: B+
