How Huge Is MINECRAFT?

Wired took a look at Minecraft to figure out exactly how big it is.

And the results are a bit surprising/terrifying.  To give you a sense of scale, the planet Earth is 500 million square kilometers.
 
Turns out Minecraft has a surface area of 4 Billion square kilometers.
