Any Gen-X Geek (or hipsters thereafter) knows the beloved constant studio logo in the 80s that flashed before your movie began. It was comprised of a brilliant red-orange half sphere against a pitch dark black background and it usually stood for two things: lowbrow comedy and/or low-budget horror. It was, in fact, the company founded in the 70s by film legend (and now Oscar honoree) Roger Corman.

Thinking that I had seen most of the films in the NEW WORLD PICTURES library, I recently set out to catch up on the many I had not actually seen (and yes, that includes the Angel trilogy). I am happy to report that the good folks at Netflix have secured a nice assortment of the defunct studio’s titles for INSTANT STREAMING pleasure!
