Kicking off with Preview Night on July 19th, San Diego Comic Con International 2023 wil launch and run through Sunday, July 23rd. All of the major comic publishers will be there, most of them hosting signings, participating in panels, and selling exclusives. Here are the details from several beloved publishers!

Oni Press Presents The Annual CBLDF Welcome Party & Art Auction 2023 

Annual Fundraising Event to Begin FIGHT CENSORSHIP, READ COMICS! Initiative,
Featuring New Works by Maia Kobabe, Matt Kindt, and Gabriel Bá & Fábio Moon

In partnership with the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF), Oni Press – the multiple Eisner and Harvey Award-winning comic book publisher – is proud to announce its sponsorship of this year’s annual CBLDF Welcome Party & Art Auction on Thursday, July 20th at The Westgate Hotel in San Diego, CA.

In tandem with the annual fundraising event that draws hundreds of comics industry creators, publishers, educators, and advocates each year, Oni Press will be using the occasion to debut a new initiative in support of the CBLDF entitled FIGHT CENSORSHIP, READ COMICS! and unveil several new pieces of artwork commissioned specifically for the new initiative from an array of prominent artists.

Free for CBLDF members and the general public with a suggested voluntary donation at the door to support the CBLDF’s ongoing work in supporting the cause of free speech and creative expression, the annual party will be hosted at The Westgate Hotel’s Terrace Under the Stars from 8 pm to 12 midnight PT. (An SDCC badge is NOT required to attend.) On behalf of Oni Press, the first 50 attendees will receive a free “Secret Edition” variant cover of the latest issue of the publisher’s science-fiction anthology, XINO #2, featuring artwork by rising star Nick Cagnetti (Pink Lemonade); while the first 200 will receive a free FIGHT CENSORSHIP, READ COMICS! two-piece button set.

The evening’s festivities will also feature the return of the CBLDF’s annual San Diego Comic-Con Silent Art Auction, featuring comic art and other collectibles donated by a wide array of supporting contributors from the worlds of comics, video games, and entertainment.

Everyday Magic: Pop Culture Tarot and Live Readings. (Thursday, July 20; 12-1PM; Room 32AB) The first 100 attendees will receive an SDCC-exclusive giclee print of tarot card art from one of Insight Editions’ most popular decks. Every attendee will be greeted with a souvenir tarot card and an opportunity for a live one-card reading from Casey Gilley, author of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tarot, Stranger Things Tarot, Magic of Marvel Tarot. The program also includes a lively presentation and Q&A about how Insight Editions creates official tarot decks based on some of the world’s most popular properties like Marvel, DC, and Stranger Things.

Giveaways:

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, fans who visit the Insight Editions booth will have a chance to receive a stunning giclée print from three officially licensed tarot decks: Disney Villains Tarot Deck and Guidebook, Buffy the Vampire Slayer Tarot Deck and Guidebook, and Stranger Things Official Tarot Deck and Guidebook (while supplies last). The Disney Villains print features Hades from Hercules; The Buffy the Vampire print features Spike, and The Stranger Things print features fan-favorite Eddie Munson. 250 copies of each print were made exclusively for fans at SDCC.

Skybound Entertainment, the creator-led, multi-platform entertainment company, today unveiled its plans for this year’s Comic-Con International: San Diego. Skybound is celebrating the 20th anniversary of two of the company’s beloved franchises: The Walking Dead and Invincible. It will be an action-packed week filled with exclusive panels, celebrity appearances and signings, giveaways, playable tabletop and video games, daily photo booth and cosplay contests and much more taking place at the Skybound booth (#3735).

Wednesday, July 19
Fans can join Skybound at their two story booth for the company’s first ever appearance on the SDCC show floor. Preview night will kick things off with a special celebration of the recently announced partnership between Skybound and toy and game company Hasbro. A live session of Travel by Trolley, the hit board game with a brand-new vacation expansion pack, will also be running.

The merchandise booth will be open for business starting tonight, premiering exclusive SDCC gear including comics, games, apparel, limited edition collectibles and more across fan-favorite Skybound properties.

Headlining the merchandise booth will be custom The Walking Dead skate decks by rising star artist Bear Walker, all-new The Walking Dead and Invincible AR-enabled pins by Pinfinity, and the official Burger Mart Box, which features exclusive Invincible merchandise alongside all-new Slabs comic cover trading cards produced by Yesterdays, with 1:10 chance of securing a Robert Kirkman signed Slab.

Each day of the convention will also see a special variant cover of Invincible comics available for fans to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the best superhero comic in the universe, published by Image Comics. Skybound has recruited some of the best talent in comics–Greg Capullo, Tradd Moore, Andy Kubert, Justine Florentino and Rose Besch–to showcase favorite characters Invincible, Omni-Man, Atom Eve and Battle Beast.

WrestleQuest: The Wrestlefication of an RPG

Join Mega Cat Studios team members alongside surprise legendary wrestlers, as they break down bringing traditional JRPG mechanics to the wrestling ring. Peak behind the scenes with case studies, lessons learned, and feedback from fans, professional wrestlers, and RPG superfans. Panelists include wrestling legends Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Sgt. Slaughter, Jeff Jarrett along with James Deighan and Zack Manko of Mega Cat Studios.

Travis Beacham, creator of the hit Audible original Impact Winter, will do a signing (3:30-4:30pm*) and be joined by Skybound Chairman Robert Kirkman in conversation live. The Transformers and G.I. Joe are back at Skybound, kicking off THE ENERGON UNIVERSE! Superstars Robert Kirkman (Void Rivals), Daniel Warren Johnson (Transformers), Joshua Williamson (Duke, Cobra Commander) and Sean Mackiewicz (SVP/Publisher, Skybound) reveal the secrets behind Image/Skybound’s most anticipated comics of 2023. Moderated by James Viscardi (ComicBook.com).

Iconic actress Katee Sackhoff will be making an appearance on the broadcast livestream to talk about her new podcast, Blah Blah Blah with Katee Sackhoff (1:30-2:00pm*). That’s right–Dark Horse is back at SDCC! Stop by the Dark Horse Comics booth #2615 at San Diego Comic-Con to meet some of your favorite creators and get some free swag, such as comics, pins, posters, and more! Let out your artistic side with our communal coloring wall featuring artwork from some of our coloring books, including Critical Role, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, and The Witcher! Speaking of The Witcher, CD Projekt RED will be partnering with us this year at the booth and will join us for signings, panels, and more.

Below, find our full schedule of signings taking place at the Dark Horse Comics booth from Thursday-Sunday. Following that, find a complete list of our panels and programming around the convention. Details and guests may be added or subject to change.

All creators signing in our booth offer their autographs for FREE. FREE prints, comics, or posters are provided for most of our signings (while supplies last). Convention exclusives can be purchased at our booth, or bring your own items to be signed; however, we may limit the type or number of items to be signed as necessary. See details for each signing below.

Some signings require a wristband for entry, as noted on the schedule. Drawings for wristbands for these events will begin when the exhibit hall opens to the public the day before and day of each signing, and will end when all allotted wristbands have been given out. Come to the Dark Horse booth early for the wristband drawings and for the best chance to join these events.

Lines may also be closed for some signings due to crowding or time restrictions.

to San Diego Comic-Con July 19-23

Panels Will Highlight Fan-Favorite Series “Rick and Morty,” “My Adventures with Superman,” “Tiny Toons Looniversity”
and “Teenage Euthanasia,” Along with New Films Based on “The Venture Bros.” and “Metalocalypse”

Adult Swim and Cartoon Network announced today a must-see San Diego Comic-Con lineup featuring top animated series. With a schedule that encompasses both kids’ and family entertainment and adult comedy, this year’s schedule will include panels for the Emmy-winning global phenomenon “Rick and Morty,” new action-packed series “My Adventures with Superman,” the latest season of the adult animated comedy “Teenage Euthanasia,” as well as Cartoon Networks’ upcoming new show “Tiny Toons Looniversity.” Plus, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment will also highlight the forthcoming releases of the highly anticipated animated films based on two of Adult Swim’s most beloved series: “The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart” and “Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar.”

Delving into each series, panels will bring exclusive first looks, behind-the-scenes insights, and interactive fun. Celebrate 50 Years of Red Sonja With San Diego Comic Con Panel!
Movie Teaser Trailer Debut, New Comic Series, Novels, Top Creators & More!

Dynamite announces an exciting panel for this year’s San Diego Comic Con, as creators and fans celebrate 50 fantastic years of Red Sonja! In addition to a retrospective discussion on the character’s legacy and past, her future will be looked to with new comics, novels, as well as an exclusive teaser trailer debut for her upcoming blockbuster Millennium Media film starring Matilda Lutz!

The panel will be held on Friday, July 21 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM local San Diego time in room 5AB.

Red Sonja, LLC president, executive editor, and a producer of the coming film Luke Lieberman will serve as panel moderator, joined by franchise contributors Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, Amy Chu, Dan Panosian, producer Mark Canton, and other guests.

The beloved She-Devil With a Sword’s story began in comics in 1973, and now 50 years later she remains the greatest sword-and-sorcery female heroine of them all! She’s hacked and slashed her way into the hearts of fantasy and comics fans all around the world. An incredible range of writers and artists have taken on her stories in her native comics medium, including the likes of Roy Thomas, Frank Thorne, Gail Simone, Mirka Andolfo, Mike Carey, Michael Avon Oeming, Jim Zub, Louise Simonson, Mark Russell, Alex Ross, Mel Rubi, and countless more.

With the first issue launching right in sync with San Diego Comic Con, fans will get to dive right into her latest epic series celebrating the anniversary by Torunn Grønbekk (Thor, Realm of X) and fan-favorite franchise artist Walter Geovani. How this series came together and teases for what comes next will be discussed on the panel. As well as a surprise additional comic series by a top creator!

Attendees of the panel will be the first to see a teaser trailer of the upcoming highly anticipated Millennium Media (Expend4bles) film starring Matilda Lutz (Revenge, Rings, Medici) as the fearsome warrior, Wallis Day (Sex/Life, Batwoman) as Annisia, and Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy, Misfits) as Draygan with M.J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) directing and a script written by Tasha Huo (Netflix’s Tomb Raider).

The audience will also get the opportunity to watch a fun tribute video from some of the biggest creators associated with the character.

Key details from the panel will be shared widely with fans following the event.
