I’m the furthest thing from a Sneakerhead, but I do appreciate a cool looking shoe. And this my friends, is it.
Now available, this collaboration between DC Comics, PUMA and streetwear brand BAIT comes the perfect companion to what I thought was one of the most entertaining comic book films in recent memory, The Flash. Inspired by the film, this sneaker looks like it ran out of the Bruce Wayne’s lab and onto your feet.
A new take on PUMA’s RS-X classic, the shoe features a burgundy leather upper which is contrasted by black brush-stroke accents, with matching crimson laces and the Flash’s yellow lightning bolt logo. The lightning bolt insignia is repeated on the tongue, while triple branding appears on the custom sockliner. The toe and sole of the shoe incorporate black into the design in the form of a pebbled and streak pattern. Yellow features in the stitching, interior and back panel, as well as in a provided alternate pair of laces.
Let’s just say when I wore these when I went to see the film, the reaction was so electric, it nearly disrupted the Multiverse.
But more importantly than looking awesome, the shoes are super-comfortable. I wear a wide shoe and even though this design doesn’t offer any alternate widths, these were plenty roomy and fit great.
