How VR Will Change The World

It’s hard to believe that it’s been just a handful of years since the Oculus Rift DK1 was released to the public. In that short time, we’ve seen multiple advances in virtual reality technology that have democratized access to immersive experiences.

The release of the Oculus Quest in 2019 was a major turning point, as it offered a high-end VR experience without the need for a PC or gaming console. The past few years have seen continued advancements in both hardware and software, and it’s now clear that VR is here to stay. So what does the future hold for this exciting new technology? From business benefits to VR sex, here are five ways that VR is going to change the world.

Expanding access to education and training

VR has already begun to revolutionize education and training by making it possible for people to learn in simulated environments. For example, medical students can now use VR to gain hands-on experience in surgery without having to put patients at risk. As VR technology continues to develop, we’ll see more and more educational and training applications for VR arise. This will have a huge impact on level of available talent globally as well as retention rates for employees who receive VR-based training.

Increased productivity in the workplace

One of the most promising applications of VR technology is its ability to increase productivity in the workplace. For example, architects and engineers can use VR to walk through their designs before they’re even built, which helps identify potential problems early on. Construction workers can use VR simulations to train for dangerous work conditions before they ever step foot on a job site. The list goes on and on; there’s virtually (no pun intended) no limit to the number of ways that VR can be used to increase productivity in the workplace.

Enhancing our social lives

Social media has already changed the way we socialize; we no longer need to be in the same physical space as someone else in order to interact with them. With the advent of social VR, we’re beginning to see an even bigger shift in how we interact with each other. Social VR platforms like AltspaceVR and vTime allow people from all over the world to meet up in virtual spaces and interact with each other as if they were in the same room. As social media continues to evolve, we’ll see more and more people using Social VR platforms for everything from attending virtual concerts to adult activities in the virtual space, to enjoying a night out with friends at a virtual bar or club.

Healthcare

One of the most exciting ways that VR is being used today is in the healthcare industry. Doctors and surgeons are using VR simulations to hone their skills and learn new techniques. In the future, VR will be used to provide remote medical care and training. It will also be used to treat conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Entertainment

It’s not just businesses and educational institutions that are embracing VR – the entertainment industry is as well. Film and television studios are already using VR technology to create immersive experiences for viewers. In the future, we’ll likely see more movies, TV shows, and video games that take advantage of VR technology.

It’s clear that virtual reality is going to have a big impact on our lives in the years to come. By expanding access to education and training, increasing productivity in the workplace, and enhancing our social lives through platforms such as SexLikeReal, VR is going to change the world as we know it – and there’s no turning back now.
