Follow The Making of ‘The Godfather’ in Paramount+’s Original Limited Event Series ‘The Offer’ On Blu-ray & DVD 11/29

Discover the fascinating story behind the making of the cinematic masterpiece The Godfather when “THE OFFER” arrives on Blu-ray and DVD November 29, 2022 from Paramount Home Entertainment.  The series will also be available to purchase on Digital.

“THE OFFER” follows the journey of Al Ruddy, a Hollywood outsider who starts as a programmer & ends up producing one of the greatest films of all time: The Godfather. Over the course of the production, Ruddy, along with his assistant Bettye McCartt and director Francis Ford Coppola, contend with all the problems of a making a movie: from battles over casting & scripting, to the involvement of the real-life mafia. Paralleling Ruddy’s rise is the ascent of crime boss Joe Colombo & the Italian-American Civil Rights League, which condemns Mario Puzo’s bestselling novel. Ruddy’s film adaptation puts him & Colombo on a collision course that will ultimately make or break the movie. Hanging in the balance is Paramount Pictures, a last place studio on the verge of being scrapped by parent company Gulf & Western. Robert Evans, the iconic studio executive, gambles on The Godfather to save Paramount and put it where it belongs: at the top.

From Paramount Television Studios, “THE OFFER” is based on Oscar-winning producer Albert S. Ruddy’s extraordinary, never-revealed experiences of making The Godfather. The series stars Miles Teller as Albert S. Ruddy, Matthew Goode as Robert Evans, Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola, Burn Gorman as Charles Bluhdorn, Colin Hanks as Barry Lapidus, Giovanni Ribisi as Joe Colombo, and Juno Temple as Bettye McCartt.

THE OFFER” four-disc Blu-ray or DVD sets include all 10 episodes, plus over two hours of bonus content with over an hour of exclusive special features including deleted scenes and never-before-seen featurettes “Parallels: Art Imitates Art,” “The Offer: Sending a Message,” and the four-part “No One Can Refuse: Making the Offer.”

The 10-episode limited event series is written and executive produced by Nikki Toscano (“Hunters”), who also serves as showrunner, and by creator and Oscar and Emmy-nominated writer Michael Tolkin (“Escape at Dannemora,” The Player). In addition to Toscano and Tolkin, two-time Oscar-winner Albert S. Ruddy (Million Dollar Baby, The Longest Yard, “Hogan’s Heroes”), Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick) and Emmy Award winner Leslie Greif (“Hatfields & McCoys”) also serve as executive producers on the series alongside Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman), who also directed the first block of the series.
