‘Spider-Man: Life Story Annual #1’ (review)

Written by Chip Zdarsky
Art by Mark Bagley
Published by Marvel Comics

The Spider-Man: Life Story limited series was a great story from start to finish.

I loved what the creative team did with it and the small touches really made the story resonate with me. This is a story that takes place in that universe.

The original story basically was a look at Peter Parker’s life from a different perspective.

It showed different eras of Spider-Man and the different eras where things took place.

This issue follows a similar path but with the character of J. Jonah Jameson.

This story shows Jonah carrying on with his crusade throughout the years.

It shows how he originally became obsessed with the wall crawler. It shows how Jonah launched his life long crusade against him. It shows the pain Jonah went through.

We get to see Jonah age in real time as well. That is truly the most remarkable thing about the book. It shows where Jonah eventually ends up and what his years of crusading against Spider-Man has led to. It is well done.

Chip Zdarsky really defined this series with his writing style. It is creative and brilliant and well written. Mark Bagley is a classic Spider-Man artist and his art is great here too as always.

Overall, this is an excellent addition to the original series and compliments it well.

RATING: A
