Korean Celebrities That Have Been Blacklisted in The Entertainment Industry

No celebrity wants to be blacklisted, as this can take a toll on their glamorous lifestyle and career. However, this is not a matter of choice, as it comes unexpectedly for many celebrities. In Korea, some top celebrities have been blacklisted in the entertainment industry.

The entertainment industry is highly regulated, and many celebrities cannot get away with bad behaviors such as illegal gambling or using drugs. Some of these celebrities were also blacklisted because of their legal battles with their previous entertainment agency.

Here are some top Korean celebrities on the blacklist of the entertainment industry:

Shin Jung-Hwan

Shin Jung Hwan is a popular entertainer and comedian. Police in South Korea arrested and accused him of taking loans of over $100,000 from a Philippines-based casino. He collected the loan in September to play high-stakes baccarat. Since the issuance of this charge, this entertainer has been running away from the authorities.

After some time of being in hiding, Shin finally turned himself in. There are some strict anti-gambling laws in South Korea, and the government even prohibited its citizens from gambling in casinos outside the country. Since safe gambling was an issue, South Korea also banned all types of online gambling, but some online games like “StarCraft” are still very popular.

The government is also arresting some illegal online gambling website owners. Several countries across the globe are introducing and amending their laws to protect their citizens and promote safe gambling. This is why Sweden introduced the Swedish Gambling Act on January 1, 2019, and the new law applies to gambling for money. All gambling platforms such as https://cvasino.se need a Swedish license to function legally in the country.

Park Shi-hoo

Park Shi-hoo is an actor that lost his shine due to some sort of setup from a gold digger. A model girl accused him of raping her. She was also using it to blackmail him. However, the authorities carried out further investigation, and he was not found guilty.

Nevertheless, even though he was not found guilty, the scandal took a toll on his career, and he has not made an appearance on TV since then. He used to be the main lead of a popular TV drama, but he lost that position after the scandal. Securing other roles in the entertainment industry has also been an issue for him.

JYJ

The former members of TVXQ or DBSK also made it to the blacklist of the entertainment industry after they left the group from SM entertainment agency. Their legal issue lasted for a long time, and it had a huge effect on their career. Xiah Junsu, Park Yoo Chun, and Kim Jaejoong (JYJ) are the three members of the TVXQ, and they ended their long-term contract with the entertainment agency because of unfairness.

Since they decided to end their contract, the SM Entertainment agency also decided not to manage the three of them anymore. They later joined the C-Jes entertainment agency and regrouped as JYJ. Unfortunately for them, SM has a lot of influence in the industry, and they were no longer able to make an appearance in the broadcast station.

SNSD Jessica

Jessica was evicted from the SNSD/ girls generation after she was unable to decide between being a fashion designer or idol. There were reports that she no longer had the well being of the SNSD in mind but only her personal interest. After she was kicked out, she went on to create BLANC and Eclare – her own fashion brand.

However, SM Entertainment said that she used SNSD, which she used to start her own fashion brand and make a profit. After she left the group, she has not made an appearance on any major television broadcasting program. What she has been doing basically is talking about beauty products. She also tried to come back as a solo singer, but she did not have many promotional activities.

This little scandal/accusation flushed her years of hard work down the drain. Her fashion career was also a struggle.

Conclusion

Many celebrities today have been blacklisted in the entertainment industry due to one reason or the other. However, some of the most common reasons include scandals and irresponsible gambling. The best way to avoid such issues is to practice safe gambling.
