This is the final issue of this title that will be written by Brian Michael Bendis!
It has been a rather disappointing run to be perfectly frank. He really didn’t do a lot on his time on this book except to give us confusing storylines and lame new characters and villains.
That is exactly what happens in this issue as well. Superman comes face to face with the Synmar character. Synmar is a collective of lame aliens from a lame planet.
They are mad at the fate of their world. So, they figure it is time to take away Superman’s world from him.
But Superman may not be able to do anything!
He is in deep space and has to get back to stop this crazy alien race from taking the earth down. So, Superman must go back and fight against this silly race that seems hellbent on their task.
And that is when Superman comes up against them. That is when Superman has this moment. This moment seems to be the whole thing that Bendis has been building towards for his entire time on this book.
Honestly, I found it rather ridiculous and found myself chuckling. Blah.
At least the art by Ivan Reis is worth it. His work here really is spectacular. Hopefully, the next few months really resets this book into something that is readable again.
All of these characters have been wasted for so long that it would be nice.
