Another knockout from Millar and Capullo.
The great thing about Mark Millar is that he knows how to really write to his artist’s strengths. In this case, Capullo is doing the best work of his career. It’s truly excellent top notch work.
Bonnie and Tom are chained and dragged to Black Wish Mountain, where they are confronted by a vengeful figure from the past.
Will they escape to find Harry, or be turned over to Lord Golgotha?
The characters are top notch and that is a feather in Millar’s cap. The whole comic is well written but he makes characters you can easily identify with.
Together, this is one of the delights presently coming out in comic book shops.

Matt Kindt is a comic book Renaissance man. Everything he touches has a unique flair that looks like nothing else on the stands. This series is delightful and a hell of a mystery.
And it moves like nothing else.
Cut off from the rest of their team, Mia and Roger are trapped in a flooding ocean research base while the water rises.
As their time and air supply run out, Roger tells Mia secrets about her parents’ past . . . secrets that could help Mia uncover the identity of her father’s murderer!
The writing is crisp and the art is supercool.
Kindt is a fantastic artist as well and the visuals on this book are like none other. Give this book a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

The Infamous Iron Man #4

This series has gone into the realm of the bananas. Soooooo…Dr. Doom is now Iron Man. This series is truly out of its mind. And I love it.
It’s trash for sure but it’s a fun kind of trash.
It seems like old times as Victor Von Doom finds himself confronted by Benjamin J. Grimm.
But with so much history between them, can Victor ever possibly convince him that times have changed?
That Victor Von Doom is now REALLY Iron Man?
Bendis is all over the map with his writing in the past few years.
This is kind of all over the map too, but hey, it’s meant to be entertainment.
Maleev is great on the art…though I feel their talents would be better spent elsewhere? Maybe they should go back to Scarlet?
Still, this is nuts. And I love nuts.

Saga #42

Saga is a great science fiction epic.
One of the best ever to grace the comicbook industry. And this issue is yet another example of why I feel that way. It’s well written, well drawn, and the production value is tops.
If you haven’t read this yet, start from the first issue and work your way up to here. And then thank me.
The storyline “The War From Phang” concludes in this issue.
And I have to say, I have never seen an ending like this before. It’s truly epic and the scale is grand. You can’t miss this issue if you’re a fan.
Vaughan has never been better than he has been here. His writing is amazing.
The same is true for Staples’ art. They are one of the best teams in comics. What are you waiting for? Pick it up now!
