Most overrated thing about 2014? The U.S. Ebola scare, leaked Sony emails/The Interview, anything Kardashian-related, Vine/Social Media Celebrities
Most underrated thing about 2014? The international Ebola situation, Obama’s overall success as President, the scary police turned militia, and the unjustified killings committed by police on unarmed African Americans with no ramifications.
Thing that you were most excited about in 2014? The new Star Wars trailer looks fun.
Thing that disappointed you most in 2014?   My mother and sister’s simultaneous breast cancer diagnoses and the sudden death of my friend, Chris Reilly.
Thing that you’re most looking forward to in 2015?  Good health for my family and friends, some pop culture that’s fun and entertaining and a very big, exciting, upcoming announcement regarding the future of Forces of Geek.

EMMA-JANE CORSAN
@emmajanecorsan | @cheesemint | cheesemint.com | excusemewhileigeekout.blogspot.com

Best Movies: The Double, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Calvary, Edge Of Tomorrow, Noah, Birdman
Best TV Shows: The Flash, Arrow, House Of Cards, Fargo, Parks and Recreation, Psychobitches
Best Books (fiction): I didn’t read any new releases in 2014 but I did read Milan Kundera’s The Book Of Laughter And Forgetting, which I absolutely loved.
Best Books (non-fiction): The only non-fiction I read in 2014 was Yes Please by Amy Poelher, I absolutely adore her, I mean, how can I not love her when she writes such wonderful things like “I have the Angelina Jolie of vaginas”!?
Best Video Game: Titanfall, Destiny, Alien Isolation, South Park: Stick Of Truth, Thief and Assassin’s Creed Unity (despite all the patches it’s needed since its release….I just really enjoyed running around the Parisian rooftops!)
Best Comic Books / Graphic Novels: The continual joy that is Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn’s Deadpool run. Can’t get enough of it!
Best Blu-ray/DVD Release: Calvary because it had some really great cast and crew interviews and I missed it at the cinema and Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes which was a spectacular film that I really should have added in the best films category but somehow missed it!
Most overrated thing about 2014? The endless leaks of naked celebrities and hacking of Sony to distract us all from the actual terrible things going on in the world like war crimes or Ebola. Oh, and Interstellar was also highly overrated.
Most underrated thing about 2014? We landed on a comet for the first time, no big deal….oh, wait…huge deal! Yet, no one seemed to care. In fact so many awesome scientific feats and discoveries were glazed over this year all because they didn’t have their boobs out in their Mystique costume!
Thing that you were most excited about in 2014? Getting married and having the opportunity to work with the actor Julian Sands!
Thing that disappointed you most in 2014? I thought I’d have lots to put in this category but 2014 was pretty good year for me. Now I just have to hope I haven’t peaked!
Thing that you’re most looking forward to in 2015? Self-drying jackets and hover boards….obviously.

LITTLE SOFI

Best Movies: X-Men: Days of Future Past and Godzilla were my favourite releases last year, although Godzilla could have been a little shorter. That scene with the knowing look exchanged between our hero and the beast for example, would have looked better on the cutting room floor.
Best TV Shows: True Detective, Fargo, American Horror Story, BoJack Horseman and Game of Thrones all stole hours and hours from me during 2014 as I could not stop watching them while they were airing.
Best Video Game: Alien Isolation
Best Albums:  †††, by ††† (Crosses) The electronic alternative rock album is an interesting listen, but not as good as Chino Moreno’s supergroup release the year before Palms, by Palms.  Future Islands’ album singles was a great hit this year, as popularised by their David Letterman performance.
Best Music Video:  Reminiscent of Queen of The Damned, FKA Twigs – ‘Two Weeks‘;  Metal + LARP + hot girls = good. Mastodon – ‘High Road’; I don’t know if it’s sad or not, but I like it. Flying Lotus – ‘Never Catch Me’
Most overrated thing about 2014? Internationally, Kim Kardashian’s ass. In the UK specifically, it has to be beards, cereal and pulled pork.
Most underrated thing about 2014? The Rosetta Mission. We landed on a comet, and all people could talk about was THE SHIRT THE GUY WAS WEARING WHILE HE WAS TELLING US ABOUT IT. I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.
Thing that you were most excited about in 2014? The news that Twin Peaks would be coming back! And the new Star Wars trailer.
Thing that disappointed you most in 2014?  The latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie 🙁 Childhood ruined.
Thing that you’re most looking forward to in 2015? Star Wars!
