Agent 88 (no other name) is an 88-year-old woman developing Alzheimer’s.
She is also a deadly assassin.
Don’t be fooled by the title: This is the only episode.
Most of the website is still under construction. That’s okay, because you don’t need any prior knowledge to enjoy this episode.
A little old lady goes to the grocery store.
On the way home, her cart tips and her oranges roll into a gangland beating. She goes to collect the oranges and thugs escalate from being rude to striking the old woman.
Then the ass-whipping begins.
The story moves quickly. The action is fast and over-the-top. The interjection of comic book onomatopoeia behind the blows helps maintain the tongue-in-cheek tone of the piece.
My one complaint is that they treat Alzheimer’s as a gag, rather than as a serious condition.
The bit where Agent 88 can’t remember how to find the orange marmalade could have been written more accurately and still worked.
Agent 88 is less than 18 minutes long. Despite the short cast list on IMDB, there are some recognizable faces (don’t think you snuck past me, Kevin Grevioux).
If you like silly kung-fu shoot-em-ups, you’ll love Agent 88.
