Watch The Zombie Kangaroo Short WATERBORNE! That’s Right, We Said “Zombie Kangaroo”…

Just when you thought the zombie genre was close to death (un-death?) comes this fantastic little short, Waterborne.

This short (which is also being used as a proof of concept for a feature film currently in development), comes from producer Marisa Brown, co-writer Richard Barcaricchio and co-writer/director Ryan Coonan and was filmed in Numurkah, Austrailia.

Here’s the official description:

Years of drought, flood, and fluctuating environmental conditions have taken their toll the struggling country town of Numurkah. When a local ranger in a small country town finds an unidentified algae overwhelming the water supply, he knows that something’s not right. But it’s not until the sun goes town that he discovers the true extent of the danger – it seems the town is about to experience the effects of a mysterious infection that turns not only humans – but animals too – into zombies.

‘Waterborne’ was financed through a combination of crowdfunding and personal investment, and contains the first ever zombie kangaroo to appear on screen. Australian wildlife has never been so terrifying…

Waterborne has played at numerous festivals across the globe and now can finally be seen by everyone.  Check it out after the jump.
