This November Hong Kong Cinema Classics Releases ‘Hard Boiled’ and ‘A Better Tomorrow’ Trilogy on 4K UHD!

Shout Studios’ Hong Kong Cinema Classics continues to offer movie enthusiasts a treasure trove of must-see film classics from a remarkable era in cinematic history. The goal is to preserve and present these iconic movies in their finest form for fans, both old and new, at home.

On November 4, 2025, Hong Kong Cinema Classics presents the highly anticipated action classic HARD BOILED Deluxe Edition 4K UHD+Blu-ray. Official selection of Cannes Classics, Toronto International Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, and Fantasia Film Festival, Chow Yun-Fat, Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, and Teresa Mo in the high-octane action crime thriller from renowned filmmaker John Woo. HARD BOILED Deluxe Edition features a new 4K scan and a wealth of new bonus content, and includes a new 52-page booklet with four expert essays and extensive art – all collected in a 3-Disc set.

On November 18, 2025, A BETTER TOMORROW TRILOGY arrives on 4KUHD+Blu-ray. An official selection of Berlin International Film Festival and winners of Hong Kong Film Awards, Chow Yun-Fat, Leslie Cheung, and Ti Lung star in Woo’s A BETTER TOMORROW and A BETTER TOMORROW II, and Tsui Hark’s A BETTER TOMORROW III. A BETTER TOMORROW TRILOGY boasts a new 4K scan of these three movies, a payload of bonus content, and the inclusion of the workprint version of A Better Tomorrow II, recently unearthed during Shout’s restoration process. This rare cut of A BETTER TOMORROW II features over 30 minutes of footage that has never been seen by the public, as it was removed prior to the film’s original release.

A tough-as-nails cop teams up with an undercover agent to shut down a sinister mobster and his crew. A Better Tomorrow
A reforming ex-gangster tries to reconcile with his estranged policeman brother, but the ties to his former gang are difficult to break. A Better Tomorrow II
Restaurant owner Ken Gor, twin brother of Mark Gor, teams up with police detective Kit and his struggling ex-con brother Ho to avenge his old friend’s daughter’s death by a Triad gang.

A Better Tomorrow III
This prequel to the popular film franchise finds Chow Yun-Fat reprising his role as Mark Gor, who travels to war-torn Vietnam to get his uncle and just-out-of-jail cousin Cheung Chi-Mun to Hong Kong. Gor finds complications when he falls in love with a female gangster with a dangerous ex.
