‘Nightwing #81’ (review)

Written by Tom Taylor
Art by Bruce Redondo
Published by DC Comics

Writer Tom Taylor and artist Bruno Redondo are doing one heck of a job on this title. The whole thing is very invigorating. They have gone in a completely different direction than what has come before and I love what they are coming up with.

This story is more of a detective story.

Dick Grayson has been dealing with something interesting these past few issues since the new creative team took over. So he decides to look heavily into the new mayor of Bluhaven.

That mayor is Melinda Zucco.

Dick doesn’t believe that she is on the up and up. So he decides to do a deep dive into her background. He finds out some really interesting things.

That is when his investigation is cut short.

You see, Dick has to contend with the newest villain in Bludhaven. That villain is called Heartless. You can see right off the bat that this isn’t going to be an easy fight. But Dick is ready to fight and take this villain down.

The story is very good. It is nice to have a story with a bit of meat on it with some good action. The artwork by Redondo is good too. Overall, this is another solid issue of a series that is on the upswing of being something great.

RATING: B+
