As a fan of the Superman mythos, it’s unfortunate that I’m really not enjoying any of the storylines coming from the mind of Brian Michel Bendis.
However, the titles that have spun out of them are pretty damn fantastic. The Jimmy Olsen title is a pretty fun read and this title is very decent as well.
Maybe the creative teams on these respective books should take over the Superman titles.
Renee Montoya is bleeding to death at the beginning of the issue, having been shot by The Kiss of Death. But just when things are looking pretty hopeless, Jessica Midnight saves the day.
It is a pretty solid opening few pages.
Lois Lane doesn’t know what is happening.
She texts Renee to put on the Question mask. The mask is activated and it intertwines with the Kiss of Death. This answers some questions that have been lingering with the series.
Renee and Jessica eventually meet up with Sister Clarice and Lois. They gather together to get a sense of the bigger picture.
This all leads into a nice cliffhanger leading into the next issue. It is a good one too and I am definitely interested to see how this all plays out for sure.
Greg Rucka writes a pretty wild script. This comic was a bit all over the place until this issue, but Rucka brings it all together here. The art is pretty spiffy as well. Mike Perkins is one of the best artists in the field. All in all, it is a good penultimate issue to a decent series.
