I am really enjoying this wonderful new series.
The creative team is having a bunch of fun with the character and it is translating to the page.
Honestly, I have never been a huge fan of Harley’s antics, but this is a bit different than what came before.
Harley Quinn has reconsidered her mission in life.
She has decided that she is going to help the people of Gotham instead of terrorizing them. This plan isn’t going as well as she might have hoped it would.
In fact, it has been something of an unmitigated disaster.
Doctor Hugo Strange is back in Gotham too, causing trouble as usual.
This time however, the city is on his side. Apparently, Strange told everyone that he is going to deal with the city’s clown problem. That got everyone on his side . He also is planning to take care of Harley once and for all.
This leaves Harley to have to fight against some of Strange’s orderlies. It seems like Harley may be outnumbered and outmaneuvered here.
Luckily, she has a new sidekick named Kevin. But Kevin may actually be more than he seems on the surface as well.
The story is very enjoyable. The writer Stephanie Phillips knows her audience and does a good job of giving them what they want and just a little bit more as well. The art by Riley Rossmo is tops. His work only gets better and better and this is quite good.
Overall, this is another enjoyable issue in a decent series.
