‘Future State: Suicide Squad #2’ (review)

Written by Robbie Thompson
Art by Fernando Pasarin
Published by DC Comics

The first issue of this book was very hard to get into. I found it close to impenetrable. This issue picks up where that one left off, and the story goes downhill even quicker here.

Honestly, the whole thing felt rather pointless and I was pretty much bored to tears.

So, we get to see the Peacemaker attacking the team!

Everyone is under siege. The Suicide Squad have to take Amanda Waller and get her someplace safe!

There is a lot of fighting but seeing as I didn’t care about any of the characters, it really did not matter much.

We get to see the Suicide Squad fight the Justice League on Earth 3.

Eventually, we get to see the entire fate of the Multiverse coming down to Superman.

There is a lot of things happening and most of them don’t make a lot of sense. Things get worse and worse throughout the story.

The whole thing gets resolved by the end of the issue. I never got a sense of who these characters are, so it made the whole thing rather pointless. The art isn’t bad but the story did nothing for me. It feels like a wasted opportunity.

There is a backup story about Black Adam. It takes place in the 853rd Century and it is about trying to save reality from some new force. It is pretty boring to be honest.

I wish this whole issue was better but sadly, it just completely missed the mark.

RATING: C-
