FIVE REASONS TO SEE 21 JUMP STREET

Produced by Stephen J. Cannell and Neal H. Moritz
Screenplay by Michael Bacall
Story by Jonah Hill and Michael Bacall
Based on 21 Jump Street created by Patrick Hasburgh and Stephen J. Cannell
Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller
Starring Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Brie Larson, Dave Franco,
Ellie Kemper, Rob Riggle, Ice Cube

1.   It’s very funny
Seriously.  Jonah Hill is more amusing than usual and Channing Tatum finally starts to prove why he’s cast in far too many movies.  Both are charming as hell and make a great comedy team.

2.  Fantastic supporting cast
The ensemble all around is spectacular including Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Rob Riggle, Ice Cube, Chris Parnel, Ellie Kemper, Jake M. Johnson and Nick Offerman.

3. It shouldn’t be good
Everything that sets up this movie to be terrible is present; from the actual premise to it’s own acknowledgment of it’s limitations.  Then it tears every cliché apart and handles it with deft precision.

4. Chickens explode
Pretty self explanatory.

5. Nostalgia rules
Judy Hoffs, Doug Penhall and Tom Hanson.  Where art thou, Harry Truman Ioki?
