‘Crime Syndicate #6’ (review)

Written by Andy Schmidt
Art by Kieran McKeown, Bryan Hitch
Published by DC Comics

This has been a much better series that I originally had thought it would be. The book delves into some of the darker territories of the DC Universe. I really enjoyed the whole thing and this particular issue really ends on a high note.

The focus of this issue is on the character of Ultragirl.

Kara Zor-El of Earth 3 enters the picture and turns the whole story onto it’s head.  She becomes the villain of the piece and is after nothing less than total destruction.

Ultraman has to try to stop her. They have one hell of a confrontation that has to be seen to be believed. They fight and the whole thing ends up being very bloody and crazy. A lot of destruction happens and it is brutal.

Emerald Knight also faces a decision in this issue.

Will he be a part of the Legion of Justice? Or will he fall under the sway of the Crime Syndicate? Things get mighty crazy by the end of the book and it is a pretty satisfying ending.

The writing and artwork are both very good here. We even get a bit of story with art by Bryan Hitch.

This is a book that has been flying under the radar a bit. It shouldn’t. It was very well done as a whole.

RATING: B+
