‘Batman Beyond #22’ (review)

Written by Dan Jurgens
Illustrated by Will Conrad
Published by DC Comics

This was a fine issue of this title. It is the third part of the “Target: Batman” storyline.

Batman is attacked by a big gang in the opening scene. Jurgens does a great job of giving the reader a rousing beginning that keeps the action high and the tension higher!

I loved this and everything here is wonderfully choreographed and Illustrated by Will Conrad. He may be the best artist this title ever had.

The Scarecrow has put a target on Batman’s head and everyone in Neo-Gotham wants to take him down!

This makes for a frenetic comic book. We see the Batman trying to survive.

It’s one fight after another and everyone from the Neo-Jokerz to just the citizens of Neo-Gotham want a piece of the action.

Robin then shows up to help. But that’s the majority of the issue. We do get a nice Batman flashback to the Bruce Wayne era that ties into the story. We also get a terrifying last panel of the Scarecrow which leads into the next issue.

The story is fast paced and wonderful. The art again by Conrad is pretty damn sweet. I loved the way this is moving along. I hope DC keeps this creative team in place for a while longer. They’re great!

RATING: B+
