ARMIE HAMMER To Don The Mask of THE LONE RANGER

It looks like Johnny Depp’s Tonto finally has a kemo sabe in director Gore Verbinski’s upcoming The Lone Ranger.

Variety reports that Armie Hammer will play the masked lawman for producer Jerry Bruckheimer.  Hammer starred in David Fincher’s The Social Network and will be in Clint Eastwood’s upcoming J. Edgar with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tarsem’s The Brother’s Grimm: Snow White with Julia Roberts.

For those readers unfamiliar with the classic character check out Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels in the 1949 Enter The Lone Ranger which re-edits the first three television episodes after the jump.
