‘American Fiction’ Arrives on Blu-ray on June 18

The critically acclaimed, American Fiction, from Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures, will be available for purchase on Blu-ray on June 18.

American Fiction is Cord Jefferson’s hilarious directorial debut, which confronts our culture’s obsession with reducing people to outrageous stereotypes. Jeffrey Wright stars as Monk, a frustrated novelist who’s fed up with the establishment profiting from “Black” entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, Monk uses a pen name to write an outlandish “Black” book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.

Written for the screen and directed by Academy Award winner Cord Jefferson (TV’s “Watchmen”), the film is produced by Ben LeClair, p.g.a., Nikos Karamigios, p.g.a., Cord Jefferson, p.g.a., and Jermaine Johnson, p.g.a.  The film was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Score and winning for Best Adapted Screenplay.

American Fiction stars Academy Award nominee Jeffrey Wright (“The Batman”, “No Time to Die”), Tracee Ellis Ross (TV’s “Blackish”), John Ortiz (“The Fast and Furious” films), Erika Alexander (TV’s “Living Single”), Leslie Uggams (The “Deadpool” films), Keith David (“Nope”) Adam Brody (TV’s “The O.C.”) with Issa Rae (TV’s “Insecure), and Academy Award® nominee Sterling K. Brown (TV’s “This Is Us”)

American Fiction will be available on June 18 on Blu-ray for $22.99
