THE WOLVERINE Gets a Director

Deadline reports that director James Mangold will direct Hugh Jackman in the upcoming Fox film, The Wolverine.

Mangold will be replacing original director Darren Aronofsky who previously left the project.

Filming is expected to begin this fall from a script by Christopher McQuarrie based on the 1982 limited series by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller which features the character in Japan.

This will be Jackman’s sixth screen appearance as Wolverine following three X-Men films, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and a cameo appearance in X-Men: First Class.
