WATCH THIS! The Genius Puppetry Behind WAR HORSE

In the play War Horse, a boy’s beloved horse has been sold to the cavalry and shipped to France. Caught up in enemy fire, the horse serves on both sides of the war, and survives an odyssey that leaves him alone in no-man’s land. The boy, now a young man, cannot forget his horse, and embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home.

Sounds pretty engrossing, but how on Earth do you translate that to the stage?  Adrian Kohler and Basil Jones, two of the co-founders of South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company took on that challenged and created something so phenomenal that words barely do it justice.

After the jump, watch the TED Talks video lecture on this magnificent creation.
