As The Avengers is currently the third highest grossing film in movie history, it’s been a curious wait to see how and when Warner Bros. would respond.
According to Variety, plans are already in motion to bring the Justice League to the big screen.
Gangster Squad writer Will Beall is currently writing an adaptation of the DC Comics superhero team. Although the script is still being written, Beale is in good graces with the studio, writing both the Lethal Weapon reboot and reimagining of Logan’s Run for Nicolas Winding Refn and star Ryan Gosling.
In 2008, George Miller was in pre-production on a Justice League film with Armie Hammer, Megan Gale, and Adam Brody before the extraneous complications doomed the project.
With several DC Comics properties currently being developed and the final Christopher Nolan Batman film set for release this summer, Warner could do the opposite of Marvel Studios, spinning off their franchises from a Justice League film, following the release of the Superman reboot, Man of Steel, from director Zack Snyder.
