The Review
Unlike the original mini-series, this first season wastes no time revealing the dark side and the hidden agendas of the Visitors after they arrive on Earth.  Considering that the original has been influential on everything from District 9 to Independence Day, I was curious what twists would be incorporated into this reinvention.

As it turns out, not many.

The acting is stronger, with excellent performances from the entire ensemble including Elizabeth Mitchell, Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Logan Huffman, Lourdes Benedicto, Laura Vandervoort, Morena Baccarin and Scott Wolf.  The media and technology have evolved considerably from the original series debut, and both of them are at the forefront of this interpretation.

Extras include featurettes, deleted scenes and commentary tracks.  V: The Complete First Season provides a solid nostalgic update on a beloved property and well crafted, highly entertaining science fiction for new viewers.  Highly recommended.
