TONY SCOTT Fills Up His Dance Card; WILD BUNCH, HELLS ANGEL’S and MORE!

Tony Scott is currently preparing at least three films, but there’s no indication which will reach theaters first according to an article on Deadline.

Scott’s potential projects include a remake of Sam Pekinpah’s 1969 Western The Wild Bunch with producer Jerry Weintrab and writer Brian Hegeland, a reimagining of his own film Top Gun, a remake of Potzdamer Platz (with Javier Bardem, Jason Statham, Christopher Walken, and Mickey Rourke), an adaptation of John Grisham’s The Associate.

Scott originally was planning to follow up his film Unstoppable with Hell’s Angels which is set around the Laughlin riots of 2001 when the Angels were caught up in a war with rival gang The Mongols

Scott had hoped to cast Jeff Bridges as gang leader Sonny Barger, but Bridges currently has committed to several other projects including touring after the release of his first album and roles in R.I.P.D. and The Seventh Son.  Scott also revealed that he hasn’t met with Bridges yet, and if the actor decides to play the role, he likely wouldn’t be available until Spring 2012.  The script by Scott Frank (based on an earlier draft by Stephen Gaghan), revolves around a friendship that develops between Barger and a young drifter mechanic with a gift for fixing motorcycles.

No mention was made regarding his attachment in adapting Mark Millar and Steve McNiven’s comic Nemesis, which was previously announced a year ago or his remake of Walter Hill’s The Warriors, which was announced back in 2006.
