There’s Two TESLA Movies Coming

Serbian-American inventor, physicist, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, and futurist Nikola Tesla is soon to be the subject of two upcoming films.

The first, Fragments from Olympus, is a low budget film shot in America and focuses on, “the mysteries of Nikola Tesla’s life and FBI’s attempts to conduct an investigation about his researches and inventions after the scientist’s passing, so that they could get their hands on Tesla’s super weapon called “death ray”, one Tesla was allegedly working on.”

The second, Tesla, Ruler of the World, reportedly has approached British director Mike Newell to direct this important film that will, “link events from Tesla’s life to a modern day story of technological crisis.”  Christian Bale will play Tesla, with Nicolas Cage rumored to be playing Thomas Edison with Rade Serbedzija and Lolita Davidovi also expected to co-star.

In recent years, Tesla has gone from obscurity to a bit of a pop culture icon, and has become a regular character in books, films, television and comics.  David Bowie portrayed Tesla in Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige.
