“You heard her E-Dog. Phantom Girl needs us. The Terrifics need us.

And when Rex says it, you gotta know it’s true.

Well here it is everyone, the 12th issue of DCs newest fan-fave sensation, The Terrifics.

A year of stories behind us, and the it seems our team is about to really kick onto gear.

They’re going to need to, too.

Because in the fully formed threat of their doppelganger team The Dreadfuls, we have a dire cast of foes indeed.

Doc Dread! Metalmorpho! Phantom Boy! Plasma-Man!

Twisted versions of our heroes from twisted worlds throughout the Multiverse, brought together by the brilliant feverish machinations of a soul driven from nobility into a super-egoic complex of inferiority, one that’s become squarely fixated on the life and legacy of Michael Holt.

What better nemesis for a man who has inherited the mantle of Mr. Terrific? But it’s bad news for him, and bad news for our team. Good thing, each of them seems to know, in their heart, where they belong.

Jeff Lemire is one of the quirkiest writers in the business – and one of the most enjoyable. He has such a solid grasp of his genre, that he’s able to work along traditional, expected lines, with wholly expectable outcomes, while throwing in enough that is offbeat, unexpected, and well, human, along the way to make the journey that much more satisfying for getting there.

It’s a treat to see that pay-off here, and I’m glad he’s been given the chance to see that through with an off-concept team and a book that is quickly coming into its own legendary status… with a whole multiverse of quirky possibilities ahead of it.

Almost like it was destined to be.

Congrats to everyone on the team! You’ve earned it.

Now everyone, go buy this book.

Terrifics Together.

Next Issue: Tag-team!
