This has been an extremely excellent horror series. Each issue brings aboard a new writer who does amazing things with their scripts.

This issue brings in writer Jeff Lemire who is one of the very best in the business so you know you’re in for a real good time!

The story itself here takes place in the future.

Immediately, I was taken off guard which I loved. The year is 2467 and it is established pretty quickly that this is a very different future than we have seen before. Artist Michael Walsh does an excellent job showing us that visually.

The world here is a new civilization and the old world has been buried underneath it. We are introduced to a scavenger who looks for pieces of the old world in the garbage.

He gets more than he bargained for when he comes across the silver coin in the title.

The scavenger gets what he wants but not in the way he wanted. Things take a very dark turn in this story and by the end of the book I was floored. This story is unlike anything that I read before it is certainly has it’s thrills.

Jeff Lemire writes a great script here. It is smart, and well done and full of energy. The artwork by Michael Walsh is tops as well.

All in all, this is another fine issue of a great series that never fails to surprise.

RATING: A
