Anytime writer Chip Zdarsky writes a new comic book, it is always worth paying attention to. Such is the case with this excellent book.
The writing is superb and Zdarsky tries something completely different than we are used to seeing from him. The results speak for themselves.
This book starts off in the year 1978.
We get to see a failing rock band doing their thing. They are on their last legs as a group, and they have nothing left going for them. But their luck is seemingly about to be changed.
The members of this group come across the silver coin in the title.
They discover that this coin helps them to achieve the fame, fortune, and recognition that they have always wanted. They are as happy as can be. That is when things take a really dark turn.
Apparently, the coin is cursed.
They discover that it is in a really horrifying way. They eventually come to the determination that they have to get rid of the coin and get everything back to what it was. This actually proves harder than they thought. Things get really dark in this comic.
The story is damn good.
The art by Michael Walsh is incredible. Walsh has always been an artist to me that seemed incredibly underrated. I hope this book changes that.
This comic is very good and the artwork is spectacular.
