‘The Department of Truth #12’ (review)

Written by James Tynion IV
Art by Martin Simmonds
Published by Image Comics

This book has been quite the adventure thus far.

The creative team really has tapped into conspiracy theories quite well and use them as fodder for the excellent plot lines in each issue. It is a good time every issue from start to finish.

This issue works very good as well. It focuses on America, and how disillusionment has taken over people’s spirits.

America is falling apart it seems, and that one time dream is no longer. It seems like that dream has disappeared forever.

It also seems like dangerous things are happening because of it.

Hawk Harrison knows the full truth of America and he is eager to talk about it.

Hawk relays the story of what he knows and how it ties into everything.

Cole Turner listens to it all and takes it in.

The story connects a lot of the dots of the series thus far. It also shows some of the bigger picture of the series and what might be happening next. It is pretty darn impressive.

The story by James Tynion IV is something else. I feel like this book answers a lot of questions and sets up a ton more. Just the way I like things. The art is okay but it takes me out of the experience as it always seems to do.
