‘Tales From The Umbrella Academy: You Look Like Death #6’ (review)

Written by Shaun Simon and Gerard Way
Art by I.N.J Culbard
Published by Dark Horse Comics

This has been a really enjoyable book from the Umbrella Academy universe. I was worried at first that this might have been silly and trite, but it definitely proved me wrong. This comic was full of action and a lot of wackiness.

The focus of this book has been the character of Klaus.

Klaus had moved away from the Umbrella Academy at the beginning of this series and has found himself in a world of trouble. All of the threads from the previous issues are dealt with here in a most satisfying way.

Klaus finally gets his dream of directing the Hollywood movie that is his passion project! We see him getting that ready.

It is being funded by the Hollywood Gods.

Yet, their ulterior motive is starting to be exposed. We get to see some of the ramifications of that.

This film is being made to give actress Vivian Clarke a boost to her failing career. Can he help her and put a stop to her evil?

Even more so, can he stop the evil vampire chimp lord’s plans?

Or will it be curtains for Klaus?

The ending of the book is just awesome. I’ll just leave it at that. Simon and Way write another fine script and it is a good time. The artwork by Culbard is very decent as well and really brings the story to life.

All in all, this a a good book and I enjoyed this very much.

RATING: A-
